Five Health Changes in Cats and Dogs Worth Noticing
Voice, breathing, behaviour, appetite and gait can reveal changes in everyday health.

Start by knowing what is normal
Record when a change began, how it differs from normal and whether it continues or worsens. Notes and videos can help a veterinarian.
Five changes to watch
Watch for sudden voice changes, coughing or breathing effort, prolonged hiding or agitation, changes in appetite, drinking or urination, and limping or difficulty jumping.

When not to wait
Breathing difficulty, collapse, seizures, obvious pain or suspected poisoning require urgent help. Persistent changes also deserve veterinary advice, especially in young, senior or previously ill animals.
Build a simple habit
Notice eating, energy, elimination and activity each day. Recording should never delay care or force an animal to move.
